Empowering leadership

Empowering Leadership in Primary

Our Primary Student Leaders had the incredible opportunity to attend the Christian Schools Student Leadership Conference, where they joined 200 students from 20 Christian schools in our area. The day was filled with inspiration, meaningful connections, and valuable lessons on leadership and personal growth.

Empowering leadership

Throughout the conference, powerful keynote speakers and engaging sessions encouraged our students to develop their leadership skills while deepening their faith. One of the standout moments was a talk by Dubsy Want, who reminded students that “It’s okay to be imperfect! We can all serve each other.” His message reinforced the importance of humility and service in leadership.

Another highlight was hearing from Justine Flynn, co-founder of Thankyou Water, who shared her inspiring journey that began when she was just 12 years old. Her story challenged and motivated our students, emphasising that “Big dreams can come from young people, and that includes you!”

These powerful messages left a lasting impact on our student leaders, and they will continue to inspire and guide us throughout the year. As we reflect on the wisdom and encouragement from the conference, we look forward to seeing our young leaders put their learning into action in our school community.

Here is what our Student Leaders had to say:

Eleanor B and Elliot N – “It’s easier to stand out with others, but it is okay to stand out for what is right.”

Tate S, Will A, and Jake B – “We are all imperfect and learn at our own pace. That is good!”

Phelix T – “We are all made in God’s image.”

Will R – “It is better to work together than to compete.”

Sienna S – “Be kind to everyone.”

Evie M – “Friendships are important, but they will change over time.”

Lexi B – “Lead as a student, not a policeman.”

Lucy M and Ariana Z – “We are all learning, and it’s okay if we mess up. We can try again and lead in the right direction.”
